Kathmandu 360 with Cory Wallace

We are very excited to share a project by Cory Wallace about his Kathmandu 360 ride in Nepal. The route Cory rode was 100 miles of gravel and chunky dirt with 18,000 ft of elevation gain. With Himalayan views, jungle sections, and mud slides to work around, we’d say Cory’s route looks absolutely dreamy. The Waheela C was perfect for the terrain and chunky gravel roads.

He even lays out options to do it over multiple days in his video recap. Talk about a great bikepacking trip. Watch the video below and read on to find out more about Cory’s Waheela C he set up for the route.

Cory’s Waheela C for Kathmandu 360

Cory chose the Waheela C for its aero advantages over a flat bar hardtail or full suspension mountain bike. While there were some areas of rough terrain, Cory felt much faster on the smoother surfaces and appreciated the ability to run a suspension fork and 29″ x 2.2″ mountain bike tires. “It is a bit rough in some areas but much faster in others. Nepal is a mixture of road, trail, gravel – it’s everything. So it is nice to have drop bars and a more aerodynamic position for a lot of the riding. And on the trails it is still fine with the suspension fork and mountain bike tires set up with proper pressure.” The Waheela C was *the* bike for this route.
